About Balanced Working Moms
Keeping It Simple
Since you’re already so busy, I want to reassure you right away that I am not asking you to add anything else to your plate. I’m asking you to have hope that change is possible.
There’s a harmful myth in our culture that work-life-balance isn’t possible. How many times have you heard that work-life-balance is a myth?
I would like to challenge this belief and ask you to do the same. What if it is possible to feel calm and serene most days? What if life doesn’t have to be the roller coaster it is now?
How to Create Life Balance?
I believe that better work-life balance is possible. You may not feel perfectly balanced every minute of the day, but even in our busy culture, it is possible to feel overall balanced, calm, and happy.
So, how do you do it?
I have a three-pronged approach (for lots more detail on this, click here: How Moms can Have Work-Life Balance.)
Step 1: Attitudes + Beliefs
The first step is one you’ve already started: Changing your attitudes and beliefs. We can’t start to change our lives till we give our attitudes a kick in the butt. One belief you may have had is that work-life-balance isn’t possible. How can you even hope to feel more relaxed and calm every day if you’re carrying this belief, like a heavy sack of potatoes, right on your shoulders? Is it any wonder our backs ache every day? Not to mention other parts of us…
We have tons of these beliefs. The sad thing is that we often don’t even realize we’re carrying them. Only by starting to question them can we start making changes that will give us more balance and joy to our lives.
Step 2: Habits
Habits, my friend, are the secret sauce behind all successful people. I don’t know a single person who has their life together who doesn’t have amazing habits.
Remember I promised not to add any items to your to-do list? This is because by developing habits (sloooowly, so they stick) you do things by rote and getting important things done becomes easy peasy. You no longer feel like you’re juggling everything because you do them without thinking about them.
Habits (though they don’t seem sexy) are actually a super-power in my book because they can change your life in so many ways.
I have a free class on how to develop habits that actually stick. Click here to sign up.
Step Three: Self-Care
The third (and final) step to balance is self-care. As my friend, Hunter Clark-Fields says, “You can’t give what you don’t have.” If you’re run down and wearing torn clothes with stains on them, you aren’t at your best, right? We need to take care of ourselves so we FEEL good. We need to exercise so we’re strong, eat right so we have energy, and get rest so we have a good day. By taking care of ourselves and making it a priority, we can take a big step towards feeling balanced in our lives every day.

I look forward to helping you on your journey towards balance!
Wishing you lots of joy on your journey,
